MAPPCOR is the service provider to members of MAPP, an association of electric utilities and other electric industry participants. MAPPCOR is the contractor to MAPP and administers the MAPP Restated Agreement, the contract that governs the MAPP organization. MAPPCOR was incorporated in June 1990 as a not-for-profit cooperative organization which has been providing transmission and reliability services to the MAPP members and industry participants since that time. MAPPCOR employs professionals in the areas of engineering and other supporting professional functions.

The Mid-Continent Area Power Pool (MAPP) is a member association of electric utilities and other electric industry participants in a region which spans nine states and two Canadian provinces. MAPP was formed in the mid-1960s for the purposes to ensure reliability and the pooling of generation and transmission in the Upper Midwest. MAPP is a regional transmission group and a generation reserve-sharing pool.

Under contract to MAPPCOR, TranServ International provides services that include the MAPP Transaction Coordinator (T-Coord) functions for the following:

  • Management of the MAPP OASIS.
  • Management of ATC Calculation and Posting.
  • Implementation of certain aspects of the Seams Operating Agreement (SOA) between the Midwest Independent Transmission System Operator, Inc. and MAPPCOR.
  • Administration of the request evaluation for Schedule F Regional Tariff service.
  • Administration of the Regional request evaluation process for Member tariffs.
  • Processing of Flowgate Redispatch (FRD) requests.
  • Management of the calculation process for Schedule F rate schedules.
  • Management of the Schedule F monthly billing process.
  • Participation at the request of MAPPCOR in the MAPP RTC and its subcommittees.
  • Administration the MAPP loss repayment procedure (LRP).
  • Administration of Software Services on behalf of MAPPCOR
  • Provides technical advocacy under direction of MAPPCOR for issues that affect the MAPP tariff and business practices on a regional and national level.
  • Other T-Coord responsibilities as specified in the MAPP Policies and Procedures for Transmission Operations.
